I. General agreement & acceptance

    • Client Acknowledgment: Client accepts that investigation outcomes (proof of infidelity or lack thereof) are not guaranteed.
  2. Legal Compliance and Conduct
    • Toronto Trace Private Investigator affirms that all services will be conducted legally and ethically under Canadian law.
    • Prohibited Client Conduct: Client agrees not to request or compel the Agency to perform illegal acts (e.g., breaking and entering, illegal wiretapping, harassment).
  3. Admissibility of Evidence
    • Clarification that while the agency strives for court-admissible evidence, the final admissibility is determined by the court.
    • The agency is not responsible for the use of evidence in subsequent legal proceedings.

III. Confidentiality, data & privacy

  1. Confidentiality and non-disclosure
    • Agency’s commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality regarding the client’s identity and case details.
  2. Data collection and privacy (PIPEDA Compliance)

IV. Financial and termination clauses

  1. Fees, payments, and billing
    • Definition of pricing structure (hourly, retainer, expenses, etc.).
    • Terms for overdue payments and potential service suspension.
  2. Cancellation and refunds
    • Client’s right to terminate services and the notice period required.
    • Policy on refunds (e.g., retainers are non-refundable; refunds apply only to unused hours/expenses).
